KÜRESEL İKLİM DEĞİŞİKLİĞİNİN PARAZİTLER ÜZERİNDEKİ OLASI ETKİLERİ

İklim değişikliği, parazitlerin konaklarıyla etkileşim biçimlerini, ekosistem dinamiklerini ve hastalıkların dağılımını etkileyerek paraziter hastalıkların epidemiyolojisini çok yönlü ve karmaşık şekillerde değiştirmektedir. Özellikle yaşam döngülerinin belirli evreleri çevrede gelişen ya da salyangoz ve sümüklü böcek gibi canlıları ara konak olarak kullanan parazitler, iklimsel değişkenlere karşı oldukça duyarlıdır. Küresel iklim değişikliğinin etkileri; parazitlerin gruplarına, ailelerine, cinslerine ve hatta türlerine göre farklılık göstermektedir. Bu alanda uzun yıllardır çok sayıda çalışma yürütülmesine rağmen, iklim değişikliğinin parazitler üzerindeki etkileri henüz tam olarak ortaya konulamamıştır. Bunun temel nedeni, farklı morfolojik ve fizyolojik özelliklere, gelişim koşullarına ve konak ilişkilerine sahip çok sayıda tek ve çok hücreli parazitin varlığıdır. Bu derlemenin amacı, küresel iklim değişikliğinin parazitler üzerindeki olası etkilerini güncel literatür ışığında değerlendirmek ve konuya bütüncül bir bakış açısı sunmaktır.
