Abstract

Telomeres are found at the ends of linear chromosomes in eukaryotes. They consist of noncoding repetitive DNA sequences that have become
special. The existence of telomeres was first noticed in the chromosomes of Ciliate in the 1970s, and was followed by yeasts and other organisms.
The size that the basic telomere must normally have is arranged by various proteins depending on telomere and the telomerase enzyme. Telomerase
is a reverstranscriptase in the form of ribonucleoprotein, which catalyses the addition of telomeric repetitions to the telomeres of eukaryotic
chromosomes, and is a huge complex of enzymes
