Abstract

Salmo platycephalus Behnke, 1968 and Salmo trutta abanticus Tortonese, 1954 are endemic salmonid species and subspecies for our country. Salmo salar Linnaeus, 1758, Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum, 1792), Salvelinus alpinus (Linnaeus, 1758), Salvelinus fontinalis (Mitchill, 1814), Coregonus lavaretus (Linnaeus, 1758) are subsequent exotic species for inland water of Turkey. Native and endemic salmonid species must be observed and protected against the exotic species which have been increasing and expanding gradually in freshwater of our home.
