Abstract

This research was carried out between 2009-2010 in province of Ordu rangelands, in order to determine nectarian and pollen plants which are important for beekeeping. In all, 233 taxa belonging to 34 families and 150 genus were gathered from the investigated area in the study. The family visited by bees with the most taxa were Asteraceae (38 taxa) and it is followed by Lamiaceae (25 taxa), Fabaceae (24 taxa), Rosaeae (20 taxa). Concerning flowering time, most of the plants bloomed in May and August. According to floristic regions; EuroSiberian elements ranked first, accounting for 47,64%, followed by Irano-Turanian elements (5,15%), Mediterranean elements (3,43%).Some of the identified species (43,78%) were widespread and unknown phytogeographic origin. Of all collected taxa, 184 of them are perennial, 32 of them are annual, 14 of them are biennial, one of them is annual or biennial and 2 taxa are biennial or perennial plant. 19 identified taxa are endemic. In addition, 10 determined taxa are endangered and threatened plants according to criteria of International
Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
