Özet

In Mersin City Tarsus county, grape production is an important living resource. The aim of this study is to reveal the current status and problems related to grape production in Tarsus county. This study analyzed the current status and troubles with survey of 80 grape producing enterprises in villages of Tarsus, Karadiken, Taşçılı, Belenköy and Ulaş.According to the survey, the mean field area of enterprises were 12 decare. The enterprises also have extrafarmery living resources in addition to grape growing. The growers earned yearly 11.498 TL meanly from the viticulture. The most of the produced grape were marketed for eating, and some of them were consumed by the farmers as grape juice, dried grape, vinegar, and sausage. Most problems faced by producers are related to transfer of the product to the consumer.As a result, lack of any union or cooperative of grape, scatterness of field and marketing problems are in the front place.
