Mersin İli Gülnar İlçesi Elma Üreticilerinin Mevcut Durumu ve Sorunlar

Abstract

In Mersin City Gülnar county, apple production has an important place. This study analyzes the current status and problems of the
enterprises in Gülnar county of Mersin city. For this purpose, data were collected from 83 enterprises by survey with rational sampling method.
According to the survey findings, age and experience were effective in credit use and field area was important in insurance rate. 73% of
producers were member of a cooperative. 41% of producers have problems in marketing the products. 55.1% of apple producers subsist on
agriculture solely, 44.9% make farmery as an additional work. Since there is no cold air depot in the region, product loss occurs.
As a result, problems related to marketing and depot are frequent troubles producers are encountered and solution for these problems must
be developed.
