Abstract

In this review article, increasingly important in recent years organic farming and organic products were assessed the situation in Turkey in general. Developments have been interpreted in the light of statistical data of the last 10 years. Before starting organic agriculture, the data related to the transition to organic farming process, which producers are obliged to do, are also discussed. In parallel with these, good agricultural practices production data are also shown. organic farming and organic crop production data are given and interpreted separately. Organic product import and export figures are also presented in tables. In addition, 20 of the medicinal-aromatic plants group, which has an important place in organic herbal production, are given, which are in the first place on both product and province basis.
