Common Agriculture Policy (CAP), one of the important policy of European Union, came into force in 1962 and since that time has
implemented. In process of time CAP has been developed in accordance with agricultural alterations and requirements of rural population.
Each reform process, the future of the agricultural sector, tightly associated with the balanced development of rural areas, by putting
forward an approach beyond just a production activity for the food security. The first common policy of European Union CAP, laid the
foundations of Treaty of Rome, is composed of %42-48 of the total budget of EU. Main idea behind the policy is to establish a policy in
agricultural sector and to provide agricultural development. In the scope of the EU accession negotiations, Turkey is addressed with CAP.
In this context, funds are transferred to Turkey for the development of agriculture by EU and alignment with acquits has been initiated. In
this study, main principles of CAP and in the context of harmonization with these principles, the studies conducted in Turkey are
examined.
