Abstract

Saponins are polar molecules that consist of a triterpene or steroid aglycone with one or more sugar chains. Saponins, from a variety of
sources, have been shown to have hypocholesterolemic, anti-coagulant, anticarcinogenic, hepatoprotective, hypoglycemic, immunomodulatory,
neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activity. This review will focus, saponins chemical structure and properties with their effects
on reproduction of saponins.
