Asbestos is a fibrous material which contains elements in large quantities silicium and oxygen and beside them other elements
such as Ca, Mg, Fe, Na, H. Generally, there are two different types of asbestos, amphibole and serpentine. Asbestos resistant
to strong physical-chemical agents and it is heat resistant product because of the chemical bonds and fibrous structure in
the composition. Asbestos has a significant value in the industry thanks to its unique properties. It has been widely used in
different fields like automotive, textile, construction since the early 20th century. The use of asbestos began to be restricted and
prohibited in the 1960s by the detection of illnesses such as mesothelioma and lung cancer in workers. Despite legal regulations,
exposure to asbestos continues in areas such as shipbreaking and urban transformation in recent years as a consequence of the
use of asbestos. In addition, the natural environment also causes asbestos exposure. Today, it is thought that 2 million tons of
asbestos reserves exist in the world and these reserves threating public health. In order to prevent serious lung disorders such
as mesothelioma, lung cancer, asbestosis, removal of asbestos must be done by competent persons and natural environments
